eSAFETY WOMEN

Digital safety and well-being for young women

Building the digital safety of young women from vulnerable groups and countering online gender-based violence.

The aim

To equip young women from disadvantaged backgrounds with the skills and knowledge to navigate online spaces safely, recognise and respond to online gender-based violence (OGBV), and engage as informed digital citizens.

Objectives

  1. 1Equip youth, especially young women from disadvantaged groups, with critical digital and media literacy skills.
  2. 2Strengthen their capacity to recognise, respond to and recover from online gender-based violence and harassment.
  3. 3Encourage active participation of youth in online discussions and civic life as informed digital citizens.
  4. 4Develop and disseminate tools — the e-Safety Toolkit and the card games — to educate youth about online safety.
  5. 5Work towards online environments where everyone can participate without fear of harassment or discrimination.
